Matt's Buzzers

Method of Selection

Dice

Our selection methodolgy for the past 2 years has been the same. All teams were entered into a spreadsheet with columns for their state, school name, and coach's name. They were initially sorted by state and then coach's name. We had decided early on that we would draw one team separately from any state that submitted 10% or more of the total applications. Once these schools were drawn, they were removed from the spreadsheet. It was resorted by coach's name. From there, the remaining schools were selected. We used the random number generator found at Random.org to select our teams. The numbers generated were matched to the row numbers in the spreadsheet. This random number generator uses atmospheric noise to generate the number. I would like to believe that Matt had some say in who was selected.
